Happy Spring Everyone!

With brighter days ahead, and winter behind us mostly (it did snow last Thursday at the studio), we are excited about bringing practice back outside to Pratt Park, as well as celebrating World Tai Chi Qigong Day at Cal Anderson. We are also looking ahead to next year’s Costa Rica Retreat with registration now open, you can plan on having a sunny escape for the cold of Winter in 2019. We are happy about bringing Sword practice back and continuing practice in Spiral Qigong. And, we are also excited about welcoming back Master Art Baner for an afternoon of Push Hands workshops. Please have a look below and I look forward to sharing some sweet spring practice with you soon.

Join us on Saturdays beginning April 14th at 11am in Pratt Park for Sword class. Link here for more information and registration.
Spiral Qigong returns with a Special Session on Six Saturdays May 5th to June 9th, 9am at Pratt Park. Link here for more information and registration.
Mark your calendars! Saturday April 28th is our annual World Tai Chi & Qigong Day Celebration! Join us for a free 2 hour practice of Qigong and Tai Chi at Cal Anderson Park. No experience necessary. Everyone is welcome! This will take the place of our regularly scheduled classes in Pratt Park.
This year’s Costa Rica Tai Chi & Qigong Immersion Retreat was a wonderful adventure of practice, relaxation, and fun, from the amazing waterfalls at La Paz, and the sunrise Spiral Qigong, to the Wildlife Boat trip and the afternoon student practice, it was a rich and expansive experience. We are very excited to announce our second annual trip is now open for registration. If you are curious, have a look at our pictures from 2018’s retreat, and reserve your spot soon as it filled up fast last year.
Also, coming in May, Master Art Baner returns, on May 19th to bring us more of his excellence in Push Hands study. Link here for more information and registration.
A full schedule of Spring Session classes are now up on the calendar and open for registration. We have new sessions of Tai Chi for Seniors and Intro to Tai Chi – Fundamentals for Beginners, as well as returning evening classes at South Seattle College: Yang 24 Tai Chi for Beginners and Qigong – Health of Body Mind and Spirit. And in Burien, in addition to our Tai Chi for Everyone on Tues & Thurs, we’ll have returning sessions of Chen Taiji on Tuesday evenings and morning Qigong on Wednesdays. All Burien classes are open for registration here.
Lastly, are you aware the studio has a no scent policy? Some students that you share practice with have sensitivities, and exposure to fragrance can create health risks for them. Please remember to come to class fragrance free and keep our space safe and friendly for all.
Thank you all for being part of our Wise Orchid family. I am grateful for your support in creating a better world, starting with yourself. I am honored to be your teacher and through teaching, your student. See you in practice. Be well.

With deepest gratitude,
Viola
